Abstract

The tourism sector plays an important role in economic growth in all countries, including Indonesia. One of the industries that is successful in generating foreign exchange for the country is tourism. The government must create tourism policies to ensure that the growth of the tourism sector continues to follow legal regulations and community norms in the region so that tourists are safe and orderly. This article will discuss problems related to the Morotai Island Regency government's policies in developing the tourism sector as well as the efforts made by the government to overcome tourism obstacles in Morotai Island Regency. Literature and policy studies based on secondary data, legislative and conceptual approaches are used. Methods or approaches used in legal research, which include literature studies and statutory regulations. The government plays an important role in tourism growth by providing adequate infrastructure and various facilities to provide the best. Coordination between government and private companies, national and international regulations and promotions. Every city and region definitely faces challenges in developing its tourism sector, Morotai Island Regency faces many challenges when adopting policies to develop its tourism sector. This is due to tourism potential, cultural customs, language, local conditions, and other factors.
