Penyuluhan Tentang Dampak dan Bahaya LGBT dari Perspektif Kesehatan di SMA Negeri 3 Padang Panjang

In the modern era, health is the most important element in life that is needed by humans. Lifestyle is very important and is often used as a place to show one's identity. There are 10% of the LGBT population worldwide, which is 750 million out of 7.5 billion people in the world. The LGBT group is a vulnerable group that has a high risk of contracting the virus. Not only physical health, the LGBT community is also feared to experience mental health problems. Adolescence is a transitional period between childhood and adulthood, which begins at the time of sexual maturity. This activity aims to provide counseling, monitoring, and evaluation of student’s knowledge about the impacts and dangers of LGBT from a Health Perspective. In an effort to prevent sexually deviant behavior, it is necessary to approach youth programs regarding LGBT so as to increase adolescent understanding of this. Extension learning methods used are lectures and discussions. Participants who attended this activity were as many as 100 students, lecturers, and students. The activity went smoothly and the results of the evaluation showed that there were differences in students' knowledge before and after counseling. Effective outreach activities to increase student’s knowledge about LGBT.
